An indigo wool jacket that never stays the same
An indigo wool jacket never stays quite the same. Indigo is a living blue: it does not penetrate the fibre deeply, it coats it. Every rub therefore takes away a fraction, and the piece personalises itself, at the elbows and then the forearms. That is what separates a living shade from a colour that is simply applied. We laid it on the knit of our Journeyman jacket, rather than on the usual cotton.

Cut and sizing
Close cut, with about 4 cm (1.6 in) of ease around the chest, which doesn't restrict movement. From S to XXL, half chest runs from 50 to 58 cm, front length from 66 to 70 cm and sleeve from 61 to 65 cm. Take your usual size, or one size up to wear it over a thick shirt.
How to wear an indigo wool jacket
Indigo calls for raw materials: selvedge jeans, a thick cotton shirt, a white T-shirt. Avoid layering it with a blue too close and let it take the lead role; a beige chino suits it very well. It also comes in khaki.
Care
By hand in cold water, or wool cycle at 30 °C (86 °F) with a wool detergent, separately: indigo can bleed. Without rubbing or wringing, press out the water, roll the jacket in a towel and dry it flat, reshaped. Steam from a distance rather than ironing. Store folded, never hung, away from light.
A patina slower than on jeans
On wool, indigo patinates more slowly and more gently than on denim. The shade shows in the relief of the knit, in gradients rather than in sharp streaks. Worn with raw materials, jeans, thick cotton, unwaxed leather, the garment ages at the same pace as what surrounds it.
Patine et durabilité
In three years, this indigo will have lightened at the elbows, like a true workshop garment.

It is the only wool jacket that patinates like denim, only softer. It will never be quite the same as the day it arrived, and never the same as anyone else's. A warm knit and a living blue: the best of the work wardrobe.
Knitted rather than woven
The Journeyman takes the construction of our work jacket: straight button front, open collar, three patch pockets. It is knitted in Morocco, in 7-gauge, in a virgin lambswool from Switzerland, from the first clip, softer than adult wool. The result weighs one kilogram and sits between a chore coat and a cardigan.
Reinforcements you can't see
The chest pocket measures 11 × 11 cm, the two front pockets 16 × 16 cm: a notebook, a tool or your hands find their place there. The collar and cuffs are made in double thickness to protect the most stressed areas, and a selvedge turned in the old way finishes the hem. These reinforcements don't show on the first day; you notice them after three winters.
