Raw denim lovers know that a pair of jeans patinates better the less it is washed. Every machine wash takes away a little indigo and erases the marks that wear begins to draw. So you air your jeans, wash them as rarely as possible, and look for a way to freshen them between washes. This jeans odour spray does that: it acts on the odours left by daily wear, cooking, smoke, sweat or the storage of second-hand pieces, without soaking the cloth.
Precautions
Use the spray in a ventilated space. Do not swallow or inhale. Do not spray on the skin: it is not a perfume. Keep out of the reach of children.
Hand washing raw jeans
When washing becomes necessary, turn the jeans inside out and soak them for at least thirty minutes in lukewarm 30 °C (86 °F) water, with a capful of mild detergent and a little white vinegar, in a bath or a sink. Rinse in clear water, then dry on a rack, without wringing.

The spray goes with Japanese selvedge jeans between washes. If the cloth eventually gives way, our Toulouse workshop mends it on a Singer 47W70; if the jeans are too long, it also redoes the chain-stitch hem.
How to use it
Spray a few times, spread out, over the whole garment, in a ventilated space. Leave for a few minutes, then let the garment air before putting it back on. The liquid works on the surface, without soaking the fibre: the cloth keeps its hold and its hand between washes. It suits jeans as well as denim jackets, and more widely garments you prefer not to wash too often.
What it contains
The formula combines anionic (5%) and non-ionic surfactants, phosphonates, C12-14 ethoxylates, alcohols (2%), sulphates and salt, fragrances (linalool, hexyl cinnamal) and preservatives, including benzisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone, a preservative known to be an allergen. That is one reason the product must not be applied to the skin. The 200 ml bottle is filled in France.
