This men's denim overshirt isn't cut from a fresh roll of cloth. It starts from existing garments: decommissioned military jackets, reworked in France. Every piece therefore begins as a different jacket, and the wear is applied by hand, one garment at a time. No two overshirts are identical. Yours won't match the photo exactly, and that is the point.
Fit and sizing
Relaxed fit, sold in two combined sizes: S-M and M-L. Half chest runs from 54 to 57 cm (21.3 to 22.4 in), length from 72 to 73 cm (28.3 to 28.7 in) and sleeve from 61 to 62 cm (24 to 24.4 in). Take your usual size, or the larger one if you plan to wear it over a thick knit.
How to wear a men's denim overshirt
Open over a T-shirt is the most direct mid-season use: it breathes, layers easily and gains character with each wear. Buttoned over a fine knit, it works as a light jacket. Under a pea coat in deep winter. With khaki chinos to stay in the military register.

Dyed after assembly
In standard production, the fabric is dyed and then sewn. Here it goes the other way round: the garment is assembled first, then dipped in indigo. The dye takes unevenly depending on the thickness of the cloth. Seams, flaps and topstitching hold more pigment, so the piece has depth of colour from day one, something fabric dyed before cutting can't give. It also means it bleeds more in the first washes.
Patine et durabilité
In three years, this overshirt will have two lives in its fibres.

Yours won't be the one in the photo, and that is the whole point. Nobody else will have the same one, nor the same history in it. Wearing a one-of-a-kind piece for the price of an ordinary shirt is the small luxury few wardrobes allow themselves.
A 3×1 twill
The cloth is a 3×1 cotton twill: the warp thread passes over three weft threads before going under one. This is the structure of classic denim. It keeps the indigo on the surface, leaves the reverse paler and gives a dense cloth. The mechanical wear applied afterwards gives it the look of a vintage piece.
Field jacket details
Two flap chest pockets close with red buttons. Epaulettes on the shoulders, buttoned cuffs. The shirt construction adds no bulk at the shoulder, so it slips easily under a coat. The CDM label, which signs the French making, is sewn under the collar.
