Chain-stitch hems, darning on vintage machines, reinforcements and alterations. On our clothes and on yours, whatever the brand.
We design workwear. Pieces cut to last twenty years, not two seasons. That promise only makes sense if we also agree to look after them, and to repair them.
From the Toulouse workshop, we restore selvedge jeans, work jackets and military canvas. Ours and other people’s. On vintage machines, with the original stitches.
Repairing is not a finishing touch. It is the logical continuation of the act of making.
On a Union Special, the machine that hemmed American jeans for sixty years. The chain stitch works with washing and leaves that irregular twist on the seam (the roping) that no other machine can produce.
We keep the original length or take it up to your measurement, restoring the original hem if you wish.
On a Singer 47W70, a workshop darning machine. A hole at the knee, wear on a pocket, a tear at the crotch: the fabric is rewoven stitch by stitch, rather than covered over.
The repair reads up close and doesn’t show from a distance. That is exactly what you ask of it.
Pocket bags, linings, elbows, knees, crotches. We put fabric back where it has disappeared, in the cloth closest to the original, and failing that, in a cloth chosen to age the same way.
Taking in the waist, the length, the leg width; replacing buttons and rivets. The garment you already own, to the fit you wear today.
Japanese jeans, a surplus field jacket, an English hunting jacket, a piece from another French house: we take them all.
Only one condition: the piece has to deserve the work. Most of them do.
Each one for a stitch no other machine makes properly. They are between sixty and ninety years old, and are maintained to last as long as the clothes they repair.
Two or three photos of the piece and the damaged area, by email, or drop it off at the shop.
We tell you what can be repaired, by what technique, and at what price. With no commitment on your part.
The turnaround time is given when you accept the quote. Nothing is started before your agreement.

The workshop and the shop share the same address. You can drop off a garment, lay it on the table, and decide together what needs doing to it.
