Where it comes from
The M-51 was drawn to last in the field.
Designed for American soldiers during the Korean War, it had to hold up against cold, wind and rain. London's mods adopted it in the late 1950s. Ours keeps its cut and its hood.
What we mixed
A field parka, reinterpreted for every day.
We kept the M-51's visor hood and flap pockets, then mixed the codes: French moleskin, herringbone lining, corozo buttons, a cleaner cut. A parka you wear every day, without falling into the replica cliché.
What we changed
A 420 g/m² moleskin, woven in France.
The cotton cloth is tightly woven: it blocks the wind, takes on a patina and softens with wear. Inside, a herringbone lining and a removable quilted vest that can also be worn alone.

The men's fishtail parka, reinterpreted
The M-51 parka was designed to equip American soldiers during the Korean War: to protect against cold, wind and rain under heavy use. Our fishtail parka keeps its structure and rigour, and takes it up a level: a 420 g/m² cotton moleskin woven in France, an Italian herringbone lining, corozo buttons.
How to wear it
In deep winter with its vest, over a moleskin work jacket or a heavy knit. Without the vest in mid-season, over a henley. The vest alone, over a shirt, when the weather turns mild.
Composition and manufacturing
- Shell: 100% cotton moleskin, 420 g/m², woven in France
- Vest: quilted in France, 100% polyester fill
- Lining: cotton herringbone, Italy
- Buttons: corozo
- Made in Morocco
Care
- Wash at 30 °C inside out, short cycle, mild detergent without bleach.
- No tumble dryer, no fabric softener.
- Air dry in the shade; iron at medium temperature inside out.
A removable quilted vest
Inside, a quilted vest with wave stitching, 100% polyester fill, quilted in France. It buttons into the parka for winter and is worn on its own when the parka stays on the hook: two patch pockets, piped edges, a Pacifica Militaria woven label.
A hood with a visor
Lined in ecru herringbone, the hood adjusts with a drawcord. Raised, it brings forward a stitched visor that keeps rain off the face, a detail inherited from field parkas that makes all the difference on a wet day.
The details
Concealed button placket, button-flap pockets, adjustable cuff tabs. At the back, a straight vent closed by a buttoned tab gives room to walk or sit. The tightly woven moleskin stands up to the elements, takes on a patina and softens over the years. Quickly adopted by civilians, the M-51 became the uniform of London's mods in the late 1950s.
Fit and sizing
Straight cut, with about 20 cm of ease around the chest to layer a jacket or a heavy knit. From S to XXL, the half chest runs from 58 to 66 cm, the front length from 87 to 91 cm and the sleeve from 65 to 67 cm. Take your usual size.
Patina and durability
In three years, this parka will have seen three winters and not one wrinkle too many.
The M-51 was designed for American soldiers in the Korean War: cold, wind, rain, heavy use. Our fishtail keeps that logic in French moleskin, with a removable quilted vest. Here is how the cloth will age.

Our garments are crafted from exceptional materials (Japanese selvedge denim, French wool from Tournier, etc.) and assembled on vintage machines.
Each piece is designed to last, evolve, and develop a patina over time. Our fabrics are developed to measure: we design our own weaves and have them produced in the world's finest mills (Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco), often on antique looms.
