A timeless classic, inspired by history
The heritage T-shirt was born during the First World War, adopted by the American army as part of the military uniform. It later established itself as an essential garment, worn both as an undershirt and as an iconic piece by style legends such as Steve McQueen and Marlon Brando.
An exceptional material: 220 g/m² of mercerised cotton
- Composition: 100% mercerised cotton
- Weight: 220 g/m²
- Fabric: 1×1 rib jersey, specially designed for C.D.M.
- Benefits: smooth look, no pilling, excellent wash resistance
Mercerised cotton is a premium fabric, treated with a process invented in 1844 by John Mercer. The treatment improves the strength of the fabric, gives it a silky hand and prevents shrinkage in the wash.
Robust construction and premium finishing
- Ultra-resistant assembly: reinforced seams and careful finishing
- Heritage collar: 25 mm wide, sewn as a 2.5 cm ribbed binding
- Close cover stitching: better durability than standard assembly
- Natural drape: creases little while staying very breathable
The slightly scooped collar gives optimal comfort without any feeling of constriction. Made in the old way, it settles into a perfect fit after washing for an ideal drape.
A fitted cut for every build

Patina and durability
In three years, this piece will be yours alone.
In a vintage shop, you buy a stranger’s life. This piece starts at zero: every month adds your own wear. Here is what it becomes, from 0 to 34 months, worn regularly and cared for.
-
firm material, solid color, clean finishes.
-
the piece softens where it works the most.
-
wear creases mark themselves and return from one wear to the next.
-
follow the composition instructions; excessive heat and tumble dryers are to be avoided.
-
borders and friction zones soften first.
-
the color shades with use, without aging all at once.
-
the piece is made: supple, familiar, always holding.
-
a seam, a button, a snag is mended in the workshop.
-
nearly three years: a well-kept piece gains in character what it loses in newness.
We are here to help you
Find here the answers to the most frequently asked questions to help you choose with confidence.
Our clothes are made from exceptional materials (Japanese selvedge denim, French wool from Tournier…) and assembled on vintage machines.
Every piece is designed to last, evolve and develop a patina over time. The fabrics are developed to our own specifications: we design our own weaves, then have them woven by the best mills in the world (Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco), often on old looms. A new cloth can take up to a year to come to life.
This exacting standard is what sets Champ de Manoeuvres apart.
