In the field, you try to disappear: hence khaki, olive, sand, then camouflage. Black does the opposite; it cuts out a silhouette on almost any background, and it is not a country colour. These men's black cargo trousers keep the architecture of the Battle Dress Uniform, the American combat uniform of the early 1980s to the mid-2000s: the pockets, the cloth, the strength. They drop the warlike reference, and that is what makes them the most urban of our three cargo trousers.
Cut and sizing
The period cargo, straight and bloused, was worn tucked into boots. Ours is tapered: wide at the top of the thigh for movement, narrowed toward the ankle. The dense cloth does not stretch in wear: if in doubt, the size guide helps you decide. From 28 to 38.
How to wear men's black cargo trousers
In total black, with a T-shirt and dark ankle boots: they become a neutral base rather than a statement piece. Against a frank colour: a chambray shirt, a light grey sweater or an olive moleskin jacket. In the evening, they are the only one of our three cargos that takes a dress shoe without clashing. They also come in khaki and navy.

Gusseted pockets without relief
On a dark cloth, the eye no longer reads colour: it reads relief. A visible button or a misaligned flap becomes the first detail you see. That is why the pocket button disappears entirely under the flap, thanks to a finish we developed. The two side pockets are gusseted: they gain volume when filled and stay flat when empty, and their inseam is reinforced.

A tight cloth that softens
The cloth is a very tight canvas of 296 g/m², woven from 96% cotton and 4% wool, which adds a little warmth in winter. It is treated to be water-repellent: enough for a shower, without making them rain trousers. A little firm at first, like any dense cloth, it softens over the first few washes without losing shape. The trousers are made in Morocco.
Straps, drawcord and a hidden detail
At the back, the pockets close with a buttoned flap, and metal-buckle straps adjust the waist. The drawcord at the hem, inherited from the military model, tightens the ankle if you like: on the Battle Dress Uniform, it was used to tuck the bottom into boots. Finally, one detail hides under the hem; you discover it by turning the cuff up.
