The wool work jacket, built like tailoring
The Marina is a hybrid wool work jacket: the shape and pockets of workshop clothing, the construction of a tailored jacket. Our wool work jacket is made in a specialist workshop in Portugal, where the sleeve is set like the body, following the tailor's rules. The collar is of the military type, the one found long ago on American sailors' jackets, but built like a tailored collar, with a collar stand and a roll, to sit right on the neck. Turn it over: the body is lined with ecru cotton herringbone, the sleeves with a sky-blue striped viscose that slides over a shirt.

Cut and sizing
Straight cut, with about 10 cm (4 in) of ease around the chest. From S to XXL, half chest runs from 53 to 61 cm (20.9 to 24 in), front length from 70 to 74 cm (27.6 to 29.1 in) and sleeve from 63 to 66 cm (24.8 to 26 in). Take your usual size. The size guide helps you decide.
How to wear a wool work jacket
Open over black trousers, as in our photos, or buttoned over a sweater. With Japanese jeans and a henley for the week, with a navy chino and a shirt for a dressier day. It goes from the sea to the city.
Care
The essentials: air it and brush with the nap after each wear. If a wash becomes necessary, by hand and cold, with a wool detergent, without rubbing or wringing; press out the water, roll the jacket in a towel, then dry flat, away from any heat source. Steam from a distance or with a pressing cloth. Store on a wide hanger, with cedar.
A 590 g/m² lambswool melton
The melton is woven in virgin lambswool, of Portuguese origin, and weighs 590 g/m²: enough to keep warm without the thickness of a coat. Its colour is an anthracite grey heathered with black. Lambswool is softer than adult wool; at the collar, where it touches the skin, you feel the difference.

It is the jacket for those who find the blazer too tame and the work jacket too raw. It hangs right, like a tailored piece, and keeps four pockets that work. You will put it on for an important meeting, then for all the other days.
Four pockets lined with herringbone
On the front, a 12 × 14 cm chest pocket and two 18 × 18 cm lower pockets, big enough for your belongings, your tools, or simply your hands. All the pockets are lined with our Italian herringbone, to last. At the ends of the outer pockets, bar tacks set by hand, in khaki thread, recall the military origin of our pieces.
The inside, as carefully finished as the outside
Inside, on the right side, a fourth pocket cut from the same wool melton as the jacket. The beige Heritage label is set on the lining with a zigzag stitch, just under the hanging loop. All the buttons are corozo, a vegetable ivory.
