- Take the coffee pot apart by separating the different parts (water reservoir, filter, seal, coffee container).
Rinse all the parts in hot water without harsh detergents that could alter the taste of the coffee.
Clean the rubber seal and the filter especially well to remove any coffee residue.
Leave to air dry before reassembling the coffee pot.

This enamel coffee pot holds two litres, or eight 25 cl cups: the volume of a bivouac or canteen pot, not of individual use. It sits directly over the flame of a stove, on a hob or on a wood fire, and so works as well in the kitchen as outdoors. 23 cm tall by 16.2 cm in diameter, the Blue Enamel Coffee Pot stays stable on a fire and packs away without crowding the bag.

An aluminium percolator
Inside, an aluminium percolator, a basket and its stem, handle the extraction: heated water rises through the stem and passes through the ground coffee in the basket. The principle gives a frank coffee, served hot for several people. All the parts come apart for cleaning, which keeps the seal and the filter clean from one brew to the next.
Enamel, glass on steel
The body is steel coated in vitreous enamel, a glass powder fused onto the metal in firing, most often between 750 and 850 °C. The enamel offers a neutral surface that passes no metallic taste to the coffee, and protects the steel. Under knocks, it can crack and let the metal show: that is not a flaw, it is the trace of use. It matches our enamel mug.

Care
Take the pot apart by separating the reservoir, the basket, the stem and the seal. Rinse all the parts in hot water, without harsh detergent that would alter the taste of the coffee, paying attention to the seal and the filter to remove residue. Leave to air dry before reassembling, and dry the body carefully if it has chips: exposed steel oxidises if it stays wet.
