The virgin wool beanie, a utilitarian object
The wool cap comes from cold environments, where the priority is simple: keep the heat in without holding moisture. Sailors, workers and soldiers adopted it for its compactness; in the American army it is still called the watch cap, worn to stand watch. Its shape has changed little, precisely because it answers a stable need. This virgin wool beanie does not try to reinvent it; it looks after the fibre and the knit.

Cut and sizing
One size, classic unisex cut: the knit adapts to head sizes without squeezing. It is worn with or without a cuff.
How to wear a virgin wool beanie
Camel or brown with a navy pea coat. Indigo with raw selvedge jeans, two blues of different depth. Military khaki with a moleskin jacket, anthracite with everything else.
Care
Machine washable at home: hand wash cold, or wool cycle at 30 °C (86 °F) with a wool detergent. Do not rub or wring: press out the water, roll it in a towel, then dry flat, reshaped. Store folded, away from light, with cedar.
A long-fibre virgin Schoeller® wool
The wool is a virgin Schoeller® wool, chosen for its long, even fibres. A long fibre gives better cohesion in the yarn: it limits pilling and improves how the beanie holds up over time. The wool insulates without suffocating, and stays soft on the forehead. The beanie is unisex, in six colours: camel, brown, military khaki, blue, indigo and anthracite.

A beanie you bring out on the first cold day and put away last. It doesn't squeeze the head and doesn't make you sweat. At €45, it is the warmth of an exceptional virgin wool, all winter.
5-gauge, dense and breathable
Gauge indicates the fineness of the knit: 5-gauge means five needles per inch on the machine. It is a thick knit, tight enough to protect from biting cold, supple enough not to squeeze the skull. Its structure traps air, which insulates, while letting excess heat escape when you come into the warm.
Fully fashioned, no joining seam
The beanie is knitted fully fashioned: its shape is built directly during knitting, stitch by stitch, instead of being cut and then sewn. There is therefore no joining seam, nor the tension it causes; the shape stays stable and nothing marks the forehead. It is knitted in Morocco, in a specialist workshop.
