A khaki work jacket, born of a gap
Every autumn, the sweater is no longer enough while a coat is still too heavy. This khaki work jacket was born of that gap. We took the construction of our workshop jacket, straight button front, open collar, three patch pockets, and knitted it instead of weaving it. The Journeyman therefore sits between a chore coat and a cardigan: it closes like a jacket and wears with the suppleness of a sweater.

Cut and sizing
Close cut, with about 4 cm (1.6 in) of ease around the chest: the jacket draws the shoulder without restricting movement. From S to XXL, half chest runs from 50 to 58 cm (19.7 to 22.8 in), front length from 66 to 70 cm (26 to 27.6 in) and sleeve from 61 to 65 cm (24 to 25.6 in). Take your usual size to wear it over a T-shirt, one size up over a thick shirt.
How to wear a khaki work jacket
On its own, over a henley or a white T-shirt. Open over a chambray shirt. In the depths of winter, slipped under a pea coat, it becomes a warm second layer. It also comes in indigo.
Care
Machine washable at home: hand wash cold, or wool cycle at 30 °C (86 °F) with a wool detergent. Do not rub or wring: press out the water, roll it in a towel, then dry flat, reshaped, because hung it loses its shape. No direct ironing, a little steam from a distance is enough. Store folded, away from light, with cedar.
Lambswool, a material that regulates
The wool comes from Switzerland: a virgin lambswool from the first clip, finer and softer than adult wool. Its lanolin naturally repels drizzle, its loft traps air and insulates from the cold, and the fibre absorbs moisture as the temperature rises. That is what is called a thermoregulating material; The Woolmark Company documents these properties of wool in detail.

A kilo of knit, 7-gauge
The knit is made in Morocco in 7-gauge: a dense, even mesh that holds the silhouette and stays supple. On the scale, the jacket weighs one kilogram, enough to protect from November to May without weighing on the shoulders.
The pockets are not decorative: an 11 × 11 cm chest pocket for a notebook, two 16 × 16 cm front pockets for a tool or for your hands when the wind turns. The collar and cuffs are made in double thickness, where the knit wears first, and a selvedge turned in the old way finishes the bottom hem.
