Men's khaki chinos in the colours of the uniform
Khaki is the original colour of the chino. The trouser was born in the American army, for troops in hot climates who needed a hard-wearing, light cloth; civilians adopted it afterwards, and cinema made it familiar. Our men's khaki chinos take the OG shade of military clothing and the silhouette of our Officer model. Worn cuffed with a brown leather jacket, as in our photos, they have kept something regulation about them.

Cut and sizing
Carrot cut, roomy at the top and narrowed toward the ankle. From 28 to 38; in size 32, 43 cm half waist, 35.5 cm half thigh and 22.3 cm half opening. It runs large: take one size below your usual size. The size guide helps you decide.
How to wear men's khaki chinos
With a brown leather jacket, as in our photos, or with the OG 107 overshirt for an openly military outfit. With a chambray shirt to break up the green. They also come in camel and navy.
Care
At 30 °C (86 °F) inside out, short cycle, mild detergent with no bleaching agent, and separately the first few times, because dyed cotton bleeds slightly. No tumble dryer and no fabric softener. Air dry in the shade; iron on the reverse, at medium heat.
A dye that patinates
For this green, we chose an enzyme dye. It gives an aged effect from the start, and it keeps evolving: with each wash, the shade patinates a little more, until it becomes yours. It is the opposite of the camel and navy versions, reactive-dyed to keep a constant colour. The chino is washed and dried before being sold.

Worn cuffed with a brown leather jacket, it is a picture from a film. Worn with a white T-shirt, it is summer. The khaki chino is the trouser that never goes out of fashion, because it was never in fashion: it has always been useful.
Pockets, waistband, seams
Two front pockets, stopped on each side. Two back pockets with a buttoned flap. A coin pocket, as on the original model. The sides are reinforced with two chain-stitch seams, sewn on an off-the-arm machine, where ordinary chinos give way first; the fly and back crotch are finished with a bias binding. Under the waistband, the Champ de Manoeuvres Heritage Workwear label and the size mark.
A 375 g/m² Italian gabardine
The cloth is a drill gabardine, called double-twist, woven in Italy for us: 375 g/m² of cotton with mercerised fibres. Mercerisation makes the fibre stronger and gives it a slight satin sheen. On this green, the grain of the twill shows up close. It creases quickly with movement; that is the price of a dense cloth, and we prefer it to a fabric that doesn't age.
