Chinos Slack hydron

The chino slack was born in the 19th century as British military trousers in India, made from tightly woven cotton to withstand tropical heat, rain, and marching under equipment. Adopted by the American army during the Spanish-American War, it became popular in khaki or beige; returning to civilian life after 1945, it was worn by French workers in Renault or Citroën factories, from shipyards to workshops, for its robustness against oil, grease, and bending postures.

Woven from cotton gabardine at approximately 250 g/m², with a dense twill weave for a firm yet subtly flexible feel, dyed for stable vintage fading. The inner waistband and pocket bags are lined with 100% Italian cotton herringbone to prevent deformation; double button tab in corozo (vegetable ivory) sewn with Coats double thread, reinforced YKK zipper, piped back pockets with D-shaped bar tacks for sartorial strength. Assembled in Morocco.

Its wide cut at the thighs (30.5 to 34.5 cm) tapers at the ankles (16.75 to 18.5 cm), creating a defined waist without excess. Take your usual size: it shapes the leg in motion, goes from the workshop to the office, and breathes without creasing.

What is the quality of Champ de Manœuvres products?

Our clothes are made from exceptional materials—Japanese selvedge denim, French wool from Tournier, etc.—and assembled in our workshop in Toulouse on traditional machines.

Each piece is designed to last, evolve, and develop a patina over time. The fabrics are custom-developed: we design our own wefts, then have them woven in the world's best factories (Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco), often on antique looms. This process can take up to a year to create a new fabric.

It is this level of requirement that makes Champ de Manoeuvres unique and of high quality.
