The waffle Henley

Born in the 19th century as British rowing attire, the Henley was originally a functional undergarment, designed to regulate temperature and facilitate exertion. Its button placket allowed for quick ventilation adjustment, while its collarless design minimized chafing. Gradually adopted outside of sports, it became a mid-layer garment, somewhere between a shirt and a T-shirt.

The waffle version relies on a textured knit, often honeycomb, which creates micro-volumes of air. This texture improves breathability while maintaining light insulation. With dense cotton (around 350 g/m²), the material gains in shape retention and durability, while developing a supple hand after use. Pre-washing stabilizes the fabric and reduces knitting tensions.

Here, the structure remains visible: textured surface, marked density, stable fit. Reinforced seams secure stressed areas, ribbed cuffs maintain the fit, and corozo buttons provide consistent durability. A piece designed to be worn alone or layered, without loss of function.

What is the quality of Champ de Manœuvres products?

Our clothes are made from exceptional materials—Japanese selvedge denim, French wool from Tournier, etc.—and assembled in our workshop in Toulouse on traditional machines.

Each piece is designed to last, evolve, and develop a patina over time. The fabrics are custom-developed: we design our own wefts, then have them woven in the world's best factories (Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco), often on antique looms. This process can take up to a year to create a new fabric.

It is this level of requirement that makes Champ de Manoeuvres unique and of high quality.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs are automatically calculated when you place your order. Delivery is free in France and Belgium for orders over €150, in Europe for orders over €300, and worldwide for orders over €400.

What are the delivery times?

Delivery times vary depending on the destination: 2 to 5 business days in France, 2 to 8 days in Europe, and up to 16 days for the rest of the world. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the order is shipped.

Can I return or exchange an item if the size doesn't fit?

Of course! Returns and exchanges are free in France and Belgium for all orders over €150. You have 14 days to try on your items at home and return them if necessary.
