Born in the open cockpits of the early 20th century, the bomber jacket met a simple need: to protect against intense cold at high altitudes while remaining functional when seated. Early versions favoured thick leathers, sheepskin collars, and robust finishes, capable of withstanding climatic variations and wear. Once out of military use, it maintained this protective logic and became a distinctive civilian garment, widely popularised by cinema.

Its performance relies on the leather. Vegetable-tanned cowhide develops a dense structure with a firm feel that gradually softens. This slower process keeps the fibres intact and promotes an evolving patina. The curly sheepskin collar acts as a thermal barrier, while the wool cuffs and hem ensure adjustment and limit air entry. Metal elements and buttons reinforce high-stress areas.

The cut remains close to its original purpose: structured, with ample ease of movement. The leather works with the body, marking and evolving. A garment built to last and transform over time.

What is the quality of Champ de Manœuvres products?

Our clothes are made from exceptional materials—Japanese selvedge denim, French wool from Tournier, etc.—and assembled in our workshop in Toulouse on traditional machines.

Each piece is designed to last, evolve, and develop a patina over time. The fabrics are custom-developed: we design our own wefts, then have them woven in the world's best factories (Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco), often on antique looms. This process can take up to a year to create a new fabric.

It is this level of requirement that makes Champ de Manoeuvres unique and of high quality.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs are automatically calculated when you place your order. Delivery is free in France and Belgium for orders over €150, in Europe for orders over €300, and worldwide for orders over €400.

What are the delivery times?

Delivery times vary depending on the destination: 2 to 5 business days in France, 2 to 8 days in Europe, and up to 16 days for the rest of the world. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the order is shipped.

Can I return or exchange an item if the size doesn't fit?

Of course! Returns and exchanges are free in France and Belgium for all orders over €150. You have 14 days to try on your items at home and return them if necessary.
