Henley man cotton long sleeves

The Henley emerged in 19th-century England as underwear for the rowers of Henley-on-Thames, designed to insulate them from the cold, damp weather and the prolonged exertion on the water. Comfortable under a smock, its buttoned placket could air or protect the torso as needed; adopted by sailors and workers, then by civilians from the 20th century onwards, it established itself as a versatile everyday top.

Knitted from 240 gsm pure cotton jersey, the dense 1x1 rib knit ensures a stable and breathable structure, treated with an anti-pilling finish to keep its surface smooth after washing. Natural corozo buttons fasten a reinforced poplin placket; a flat back yoke and 4-thread overlocking prevent irritation, while pre-washing softens the raw feel for a supple drape from the first wear. The knit holds its shape without excessive stretching.

Its fitted cut accentuates the chest and shoulders without constricting: chest measurement from 52 to 60 cm flat, length 71 to 75 cm. The deep Tunisian collar (15 cm) frames the neck; worn alone or layered, it breathes well in summer and in mid-season, adapting to movement without creasing.
