The woolen work jacket originated in French factories and workshops in the 1950s-1960s, designed to protect workers from drafts and dust without hindering precise movements. Inspired by the Fernand smocks of the Trente Glorieuses, it offered warmth and mobility over a shirt; adopted into civilian wardrobes, it maintains its practical logic for mid-season winter wear.

Knitted in Morocco from Swiss first-shear lamb's wool (7 gauge), the thick knit expands to trap air, soft and water-repellent thanks to natural lanolin – it repels drizzle while remaining breathable. Thermoregulating, it prevents pilling or itching; selvage collar and ribbed cuffs reinforce the openings, functional patch pockets (chest 11x11 cm, hips 16x16 cm). A weight of one kilo ensures substance without heaviness.

Its straight, close-fitting cut (chest 50 to 58 cm), length 66 to 70 cm, drapes smoothly without excessive tailoring: take your usual size. It moves freely over a t-shirt or shirt, providing warmth from November to May, versatile worn alone or open.

What is the quality of Champ de Manœuvres products?

Our clothes are made from exceptional materials—Japanese selvedge denim, French wool from Tournier, etc.—and assembled on vintage machines.
Each piece is designed to last, evolve, and develop a patina over time. The fabrics are custom-developed: we design our own wefts, then have them woven in the world's best factories (Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco), often on antique looms. This process can take up to a year to create a new fabric.

It is this level of requirement that makes Champ de Manoeuvres unique and of high quality.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs are automatically calculated when you place your order. Delivery is free in France and Belgium for orders over €150, in Europe for orders over €300, and worldwide for orders over €400.

What are the delivery times?

Delivery times vary depending on the destination: 2 to 5 business days in France, 2 to 8 days in Europe, and up to 16 days for the rest of the world. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the order is shipped.

Can I return or exchange an item if the size doesn't fit?

Of course! Returns and exchanges are free in France and Belgium for all orders over €150. You have 14 days to try on your items at home and return them if necessary.
