The merchant Ellery Chun, in Waikiki, also claims its invention; he may have been the first to mass-produce it, and registered the \"Aloha Shirt\" trademark in 1937. The term \"aloha shirt\" appears for the first time in an advertisement by Musa-Shiya, in the Honolulu Advertiser of 28 June 1935. A discreet button on the collar stand lets you close it when you want a sharper look; left open, it falls flat, as on the original shirts. All the buttons are corozo, the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vegetable_ivory\"\u003evegetable ivory\u003c\/a\u003e, a dense, smooth material taken from the fruit of a tropical American palm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eA viscose as fluid as silk\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shirt is cut from a bamboo viscose, light and fluid, with a feel close to silk. Viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre; here, the cellulose comes from bamboo. It drapes softly, moves with the body and does not cling to the skin in the heat. The palm print keeps its colours crisp on this smooth material.
